Josh Nichols

Josh Nichols is married to his wife, Felicia, and together they have two children. Josh is a graduate of The Master’s Seminary, where he earned his Master of Divinity.
Josh enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, and watching sports. Among the books that have most deeply influenced his life and ministry are The Reformed Pastor by Richard Baxter, Preaching and Preachers by Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones, and By Grace Alone by Sinclair Ferguson.
A fun fact about Josh is that he once ran a half marathon with no training. Many have forgotten; his knees have not.
Eugene Williams

Eugene Williams is married to Young. He currently serves as an AI and IT Policy Senior Advisor. Eugene earned a Bachelor of Computer Science from Georgia Tech, a Master of Divinity from Dallas Theological Seminary and The Master’s Seminary, and a Master of Computer Science in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning from the Naval Postgraduate School.
Eugene is currently pursuing research in AI Governance and HCI (Human-Computer Interaction). Outside of work and church life, he enjoys travel, golf, and woodworking.
Books that have deeply influenced Eugene’s life and ministry include Essential Truths of the Christian Faith by R.C. Sproul, Spiritual Leadership by J. Oswald Sanders, and Twelve Ordinary Men by John MacArthur. He has also been deeply influenced by Alistair Begg, John MacArthur, and Erwin Lutzer.
A fun fact about Eugene is that he has an exorbitant amount of scrap wood in the garage.
Jason Lathers

Jason Lathers is married to Amy, and together they have four children, ranging in age from 7 to 15. He serves as a U.S. Army Chaplain and is currently the World Religions Instructor at the Defense Language Institute-Foreign Language Center. He earned a B.S. in Construction Management from Purdue University, as well as a Master of Divinity and Master of Theology from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Outside of work and church life, Jason enjoys camping with his family, woodworking, mountain biking, and drinking good coffee. Each week, his family also sets aside one night to eat pizza and watch a movie together. They affectionately call this night “PMNT,” or “pizza-movie night.”
Jason has been deeply influenced by the Psalms, Charles Spurgeon’s commentary on the Psalms, The Treasury of David, Iain Murray’s two-volume biography of D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones, and Courtney Anderson’s biography of Adoniram Judson, To the Golden Shore. Other influential books include Gentle and Lowly by Dane Ortlund and Lectures to My Students by Charles Spurgeon. In the present day, John Piper has had a great impact on him, particularly in pointing people to love and desire God above all.
A fun fact about Jason is that he loves missions, yet he has never been on a missions trip.
Teddy Holt

Teddy Holt has been married to Lynn for 39 years, and they have two children, Taylor, 35, and Connor, 33. He retired from the Naval Research Lab and the Naval Postgraduate School after 35 years as a Meteorology Professor and Research Scientist. He received a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Meteorology from North Carolina State University.
Outside of church and work, Teddy has refereed high school basketball for over 20 years and is a golf caddy at Pebble Beach. He also enjoys all sports, including golf and tennis, as well as gardening and traveling.
Teddy has been particularly impacted by the ministries of John MacArthur, R.C. Sproul, and Alistair Begg. He also enjoys anything from Sinclair Ferguson and C.S. Lewis. Total Truth by Nancy Pearcey was a book that was very influential to him.
A fun fact about Teddy is that he qualified for the TV show Jeopardy!, but never made it on.
Michael Mason
Pastoral assistant
Michael Mason has been married to Mollie for five years, and they have a daughter, Margo, who was born April 22, 2026. Michael is the pastoral assistant at First Baptist Church of Monterey. He helps lead CMC (college, military, and career), assists with administrative tasks, and leads much of the media and communications side at the church.
Michael earned a B.A. in Biblical and Religious Studies, with a minor in Psychology, from Fresno Pacific University and a Master of Arts in Christian Leadership from Dallas Theological Seminary.
Outside of work and church life, Michael loves being outside and enjoys going on walks with his wife and daughter. He and Mollie have two dogs, Maisy and Moose, and one cat named SK (stray kitten). He also loves photography, reading God’s Word, and coffee.
Books and teachers that have deeply influenced Michael’s life and ministry include Don’t Waste Your Life by John Piper, C.S. Lewis, Balancing the Christian Life by Charles Ryrie, and Spiritual Leadership by J. Oswald Sanders.
A fun fact about Michael is that he had his own DJ business for five years and went by the name “DJ Michael Wayne.”
