Fellowship (CMC)

CMC is a weekly fellowship group of young adults in college, the military, or early career. We seek to create an atmosphere of spiritual growth, encouragement, and maturity through the reading of God's word, personal fellowship, and sharing a homecooked dinner!

We Believe:

God is the Creator - God exists in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

- The Bible is fully true - God saves anyone who comes to Him in faith

- Jesus is fully God and fully man - Our greatest joy is to be fully in love with God

- Jesus is the means of our salvation - God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him

Our Purpose:

Our purpose in the CMC ministry is to glorify God by knowing Him and leading others to salvation and maturity in His son Jesus Christ. We seek to do this through the truth of the Word of God and by the gracious work of the Holy Spirit.

"Let us know; let us press on to know the LORD; His going out is as sure as the dawn; He will come to us as the showers; as the spring rains that water the earth." Hosea 6:3

A BRIEF HISTORY OF OUR CHURCH:

First Baptist Church of Monterey was founded by a small group of Christians who were hungry to have their own local church. In the past they had traveled to Salinas to attend a church that fit their convictions, but this grew taxing on their time and resources, and so they began to meet together for prayer right here in their own city! The group began to grow, and by April of 1910, a young lady named Bessie McKim decided to organize a Sunday School to care for and teach the young children of those who attended the prayer meetings. God continued to bless the group and more and more members were added to their numbers. With that in mind the group decided to take the next logical step: They held their first service! That was ….
